A Common-sense Conservative Championing Faith and Freedom

Troy Clark is excited to announce his candidacy for Iowa House District 39. As a life-long Republican, he intends to be a common-sense conservative championing faith and freedom.

Troy is running for Iowa House because he believes it is time for change in House District 39 and time for a new leader to serve the people in the eastern Des Moines metro area that includes Pleasant Hill, far eastern Des Moines, and southwest Altoona.

“Though Iowa has fared much better than most other states since Covid, the last few years have caused great financial harm to Iowans. With nearly everything skyrocketing in price due to the Democrat policies, our economy has been hurt…and Iowans are suffering from it. We need to further cut the state income tax and eventually eliminate it all together, and streamline other taxes. We also need to continue getting rid of onerous regulations that slow business growth and new business creation. In addition we need to make government even more efficient.”

He added “By working as a poll worker in the many of the last elections, he thinks Iowa has pretty good voting procedures. However, there is still much that needs to be done to stop voter fraud and make every legitimate vote count. The federal government is currently pushing non-citizens to register and vote, making our votes count less or not at all. We cannot allow this!”

Lastly, Troy in increasingly concerned about the U.S. border policies. “Even though Iowa is not a border state, the huge influx of illegal immigrants is hurting us all, and is a threat to our individual, family and nation’s security. Federal immigration and border laws must be enforced. Wages are decreasing, and school, hospital and law enforcement resources are being stretched due to the additional lives being provided for. The threats to our State and Nation are real, and need to be addressed.”

Growing up in Altoona, and living most of his life in eastern Polk County, Troy loves this area, and as an entrepreneur, is building his insurance and financial services business from his home. Troy lives in Pleasant Hill with his wife, Melissa and their pack of boxers. The couple are proud parents of three adult children – two daughters and a son, and grandparents to two beautiful granddaughters.
